Serve DAY 2024

It’s Our Biggest Serve Event of the Year!

Our biggest Serve Day of the year is just around the corner and you’re invited to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in our community! We’re participating in a MASSIVE collaboration of compassion with churches across the nation on Saturday, July 13th.

On this special Serve Day, we’re coming together to show the love and kindness of God to our community in super practical ways. You can serve at one of five pop-up Dream Centers at our Baytown campus, Crosby campus, De Zavala Elementary School, Houston House of Hope or the Baytown Community Center.

You can also serve at one of our dozens of other projects by mulching our community parks, painting local building, helping out with our food distribution, build wheelchair ramps and so MUCH MORE!

Get Ready for a BIG Kickoff Rally in Baytown or Crosby!

FAQS

I WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN SERVE DAY BUT THIS IS MY FIRST TIME GETTING INVOLVED. WHAT’S MY FIRST STEP?

Serve Day is for everyone! All you have to do is find a project that interests you and get registered to join the team! Once you do that, a Project Leader will be in touch with you giving you all of the details you’ll need to have a successful SERVE Day!

WHEN DOES SERVE DAY BEGIN?

The morning of SERVE Day, Check-in will begin at 8:00 am, and this is where you’ll receive your SERVE T-shirt and breakfast on us, and then at 8:30 am we’ll have our serve day rally to get ready for the day! This is also a great place to huddle with the group you’re serving on a project with! Some projects may vary in start time, but your Project Leader will be sure to let you know all of the fine details once you register for a project!

WILL THERE BE CHILDCARE?

No, we will not be offering child care during our Serve Day event. But, we think serving as a family is AWESOME! Feel free to bring your kiddos along with you as you serve.

WHAT IF I HAVE A NEW SERVE PROJECT IDEA? CAN I PLAN A SERVE PROJECT?

Absolutely! Just assess the needs of people in your neighborhood and/or local communities and plan a project that meets those needs. Then click the “Submit a Project Idea” button on our Serve webpage!

WHO PAYS THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH OUR SERVE PROJECT (SUPPLIES, TOOLS, ETC.)?

Anything you will need in order to have a successful Serve Day will be provided by your Project Leader. We’ve got you covered!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING ON SERVE DAY?

Bring any personal items you may need during your project: Serve Day T-shirt (if you don’t have one already, one will be provided at our Kickoff Rally!), sunscreen, drinking water, sneakers, a hat, etc. Your Serve Project Leader will provide any project-specific items you may need. Work clothes are a good idea for serve opportunities requiring physical labor as well.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

If your Serve Day project is outside, make plans to have an inclement weather option available. Some possibilities include visiting a nursing home, serving at a local service organization, etc. You can find an indoor project on our Serve webpage!
