Unshakeable Devotional - Nothing Is Wasted

Nothing Is Wasted

Have you ever been in a place where you asked God "Why me?!" I think we can all relate! I was talking to a friend this week about how to navigate the tough places in life. The times where you just want to throw your hands in the air and say "That's it! I give up!"

Something I've been struggling with lately is telling myself I'm not good enough to do something, or that someone else can do it better. And here's the thing, there will always be someone out there who can do it better. There will always be that friend on Facebook who seems to have a perfect life, or a friend who's business seemed to take off with no glitches, and people out there who look like life dealt them all the right cards.

I started to seek the Lord about this area of my life and here's what I found: Nothing is wasted.
The times when I failed, I was being shaped for the times when I would succeed.
The times my heart was broken, I was learning along the way how to put the broken pieces in the hands of Jesus and trust that he can put them together better than they were before.

I was reading the parable of the weeds found in Matthew 13:24, and it spoke volumes to me. Basically, there was a man who sowed good seed in his field, but when he was sleeping the enemy came and sowed weeds all mixed in with his good seeds. How many times have you been there?! Doing the right thing, going to church, listening to worship, doing your devotionals daily, and BOOM, something goes wrong. There are weeds all up in your good intentions.

But when the harvest came, the sower's servants wanted to pull it all up as soon as they saw the weeds and the sower said this in verse 29:
“‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them."

I want to encourage you with this today, just because some weeds or tough times may show up in your life when you've been working hard to sow good seeds, don't give up! Don't allow the enemy to throw you off course. I believe that God has incredible things planned for your life and the harvest is coming! Even when the enemy tries to ruin it, nothing is wasted. God is working it all out for your good.

Love you guys!
