Day 18/21 - Belonging

Welcome to day 18 of our 21 day journey! Can you believe we're almost done?! If you've been with us the last 3 weeks, we're so proud of you! To help you on this journey, we have provided a prayer guide you can follow! You can access it here. Our daily devotional is modeled after the "First 15". This is a habit we want to create that takes the first 15 minutes of your day and dedicates it to spending time with the Lord.

5 Minutes - God's Word
Hebrews 10:24-25
Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good deeds. We must not quit meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage each other all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer.
We all need an inclusive community. Inclusiveness promotes a sense of belonging, a feeling of acceptance, of making roots and connections. A group of diverse people that value all it’s members, helping to meet their basic relational and educational needs so that they can live a Christian life with purpose, engage actively, and contribute to the community.  As believers, it's our calling to unite diverse people together in Christ. This is what God desires of us; to grow His kingdom by building relationships and spreading the good news.
Relationships begin by welcoming all who come, getting to know each other, and engaging in the details of their lives. Relationships are built by praying, caring and supporting one another. It’s the result of unlike people coming together and committing to love and serve each other and the world! Small Groups allow us to create opportunities for people to share their voices, find freedom from their past, and strength to move forward into a more purposeful and fulfilling life. It’s a place where each person feels safe, respected and comfortable, and a foothold for the support we all need to live a life for Jesus! Our Small Group semester will be kicking off on February 2nd! You can learn more here.

5 Minutes - Prayer (can be read aloud)
Heavenly Father, we sincerely want to fulfill the calling you’ve given us, but we know we can’t do it alone. You have placed people in our lives to help us walk out that calling. We pray that, through a relationship with you, you will establish the relationships we need in our own lives. Help us to be open to building those relationships, and meeting new people to help grow your kingdom. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

Lord I entered this season seeking You first in all that I have; with a heart and will to trust all of You and accept in faith what I do not understand. As I walk out my purpose You have ordained for my life, I ask that You guide me to a small group where I can continue build relationships and encourage others; that my light shines and people see Your good works. In Jesus name. Amen.

I've struggled greatly in the building relationships area. Still do to some degree. I sincerely pray that that feeling of struggle in this area... is broken. I know so many great godly people, but still FEEL this way. It's a lie that I call out publicly this morning.

From the beginning of my journey with Faith Family I have been adopted into a place , not only that I can call home , but I've found people that i call my brothers and sisters. A place , I can come to rest , laugh , love. A place where I can bring my daughter and know she is getting the best of what God has in store for her and me.
