Day 16/21 - Check Your Circle

Welcome to day 16 of our 21 Day Journey! To help you on this journey, we have provided a prayer guide you can follow! You can access it here. Our daily devotional is modeled after the "First 15". This is a habit we want to create that takes the first 15 minutes of your day and dedicates it to spending time with the Lord.

5 Minutes - God's Word
James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
Proverbs 27:17  As iron sharpens iron , so one person sharpens another.

It’s easy to isolate ourselves when our hearts are hurting. But God created us to do life in a community of believers where we can go stand on someone else’s faith when our own gets shaky. People who can help us see the hope in the midst of our hurts. Friends who pray more for us than they speak to us. Fellow brothers and sisters who can share their testimony of heartbreak turned into healing so we don’t get swallowed up by the pain of our similar circumstances. Simply put: we need each other. God designed us to help each other. Who do you need to share your story and your struggles with?  Who needs to know that they are not alone? I know how hard it is to open up about our deepest disappointments, hurts and heartaches. I understand how terrifyingly vulnerable it can be. BUT I also know there is someone else in this world who would drown in their own tears if not for seeing yours. And when you make one other person simply see they are not alone, you make the world a better place.

5 Minutes - Prayer (can be read aloud)
Heavenly Father, we thank you for giving us strength and healing when we come together and encourage each other, and lift each other up, and pray for each other in our small groups. Your word says where two or more are gathered, you are in their midst, and you also say two are better than one. I thank you for creating us not to go through life alone, that we need each other, and you also. Continue to guide us and lead us, into stronger relationships through small groups. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Good morning saints, I would be excited to join in a small group meeting to be closer to God and his servants. My edges need to be sharpened. Have a blessed and productive day, God bless.

I have thoroughly enjoyed these daily devotionals, prayers, & worship. However today's and yesterday's have hit me harder than I can express. I received a phone call yesterday morning from someone letting me know that one of my friends took his own life by hanging himself. I am feeling so sad & heartbroken. We never know how lonely, sad, lost, ashamed, or broken down even our closest friends or family may be. Most humans try to put a smile on & go about our days & try not to let others know our struggles. This situation has taught me so much that I will forever carry with me. I will try to watch closer for signs of broken people, be kinder & pray more over everyone. We all get so caught up in the hustle of every day life these days. We need to remember to "BE STILL".
