Day 15/21 - Finding Your Place

Day 15/21 - Finding Your Place
Welcome to day 15 of our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting! We've almost completed the journey! To help you along the way, we have provided a prayer guide you can follow! You can access it here. Our daily devotional is modeled after the "First 15". This is a habit we want to create that takes the first 15 minutes of your day and dedicates it to spending time with the Lord.

5 Minutes - God's Word
Genesis 2:18 Then the Lord God said, 'It is not good for man to be alone.'
God created us to be in connection with others. The Bible even says, we need each other! Growing up, I came from a broken home and often found myself lonely and wanting a “family”. I remember coming across Psalms 68:6 in the Bible that says, “God sets the lonely in families.” To me, that was a promise that even though I didn’t have a family right then, God was working all things out and was preparing a family in my future. Even though I was broken and couldn’t see how God was going to put the pieces of my life back together, I knew that all of the Lord’s promises would prove true. (Psalm 18:30) So, I began to confess that scripture over my life daily. That one day, God WOULD set ME in a family. Now yes, he has given me an incredible husband and two amazing kids (10 years down the road.) But all along the way, he set me in “families”. Let me explain! I became a part of a life-giving church where I was able to serve on a Dream Team and use the gifts inside of me. That Dream Team I served with became a family for me! They started counting on me and I counted on them. They held me accountable and challenged me when I needed it. We truly enjoyed being connected to one another. Another way he set me in a “family” was through a Small Group. Some of my closest friendships I have now were formed from a Small Group several years ago. I’m so thankful that small group leader made the decision to host a group in their home. My life was forever impacted because of it. Being connected to one another is so important. Today, you might be feeling lonely. Or maybe you feel like you have connections but they’re the wrong connections. I want to encourage you to stand on the promise that God will set you in a family. A “family” has looked different for me in every season but I know God  will hold true to His word in your life just like He did in mine.
5 Minutes - Prayer (can be read aloud)
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that as we face today, you would show us the divine connections that you have prepared for us. God, if any of us are lonely, I pray that you would strengthen us and help us see past our pain so that we can cling to your promise in the Bible to set us in a family. God, we thank you in advance for the favor you are showing us in our relationships and connections today. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for placing me in this church family!!! I bless the people that surround my children and myself. So that they will be a blessing in our lives as well as we be a blessing in their lives.

It being my almost 4 months at FFC, I am so excited to meet more people.

Father your words always amaze me! I know that long before we came to call FFC home, you had already placed us there. We started attending FFC back in October and I am so proud to call FFC home. I thank you Father and ask for your guidance as I start serving. Lord may I capture special moments, moments that draw individuals to you. I have enjoyed meeting so many new faces and I look forward to meeting many more! Thank you Father for your words of affirmation.
