Day 8/21 - But If Not, He Is Still Good

It's a new week! We are officially on day 8 of our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting Journey! For those of you following along with us, we are so proud of you! To help you on this journey, we have provided a prayer guide to help guide you. You can access it here. You can also look back on any of our past posts at any time through our blog page! Our daily devotional is modeled after the "First 15". This is a habit we want to create that takes the first 15 minutes of your day and dedicates it to spending time with the Lord.

5 Minutes - God's Word
Daniel 6:10 When Daniel learned that the decree had been signed and posted, he continued to pray just as he had always done. His house had windows in the upstairs that opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he knelt there in prayer, thanking and praising his God.

Back in Daniel’s day, he was one of top guys for the king. He was a classy, intelligent man who served the Lord and kept the main thing, the main thing. The other vice regents saw this, fell jealous and conspired against him. They couldn’t find anything on him so that got the king to sign a decree stating that no one could worship another other God or mortal & that the people are to only worship him for the next thirty days. Now, Daniel allowed nothing to stop him from worshipping and praying to his God. He continued, un-phased. He was so confident in who God was. He was then thrown into a lion's den for punishment. When the king went to check on Daniel the next day, Daniel had not even a scratch on him. The king questioned him, and Daniel let him know that God sent the Angel of the Lord to shut the mouths of the lions. This shows us how powerful worship is! Not only does it move the heart of God, worship invites The Lord & his army in our world and gives Him room to fight for us. God is always looking for an opportunity to show us how much He loves us. May we continue to push to be like Daniel and spend our days showing our God how much we love Him despite the situation or circumstance!

5 Minutes - Prayer (can be read aloud)
Father I thank you for your unconditional & unwavering love for me. Thank you that I am able to experience who you are as a Good father each and every moment of our lives. Thank you for fighting for my heart. Give me grace and strength to keep the main thing, the main thing & to always choose you as Daniel did.

I love the example of Daniel, as I create new habits that are good , I see Gods love in my life. My daughter is challenging herself in this same way as she reflects on my life.
