Day 3/21 - Don't Do Life Alone

Welcome to Day 3 of 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting!
To help you on this journey, we have provided a prayer guide to help guide you. You can access it here. Our daily devotional is modeled after the "First 15". This is a habit we want to create that takes the first 15 minutes of your day and dedicates it to spending time with the Lord.

FIRST 15:

5 Minutes - God's Word
Acts 20:20 - You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but has taught you publicly and from house to house.

In Acts, the Bible tells us we need to be in relationships for our personal and spiritual growth. Even Paul and the early Christians needed to be connected in the broken world they were in. Still today, we desperately need to be connected too! Now, you might be thinking this is great, but not for me. Perhaps you're juggling a very busy life. You've got a full plate that's overfilled with mounds of things that you need to do and are responsible for. We all struggle with the demands of our career and all of the frustrations and stress placed on us, such as goals, deadlines, workflow, and the office high jinx. There are our family obligations, taking the kids to school, picking them up here and there, dealing with all of their demands and obligations too. Maybe you're already volunteering for something in the church or community, juggling work and school and family, to the point there is not a free minute in our week. Then you are asked, "Hey, why don't you join our small group?" What?!?! I do not have the time! I can't possibly commit to anything else. I am overloaded and overwhelmed! Well, to be honest, that makes you the person who needs to be in a small group the most! Why? Because, it's God's plan for you to be in quality relationships to Him and to others within the confines of a loving community, which is also the definition of "Church". We all need a place to belong and work through the issues of life. As Christians, our primary focus is to know and grow in Christ. How can this be accomplished when all aspects of our life are riddled with stress? By learning spiritual disciplines and receiving the discipleship, relationships, and encouragement that small groups offer. We need a place to grow and that's done best in community with people who love and care for you! Our Small Group semester at FFC will be kicking off Sunday, February 2nd. What are you waiting for?

5 Minutes - Prayer (can be read aloud)
Heavenly Father, I thank you for all you are doing in my life. I ask that in this new year and a new season of life, that you would lead me in finding a group of people I can connect and grow with. God, I ask you to examine my heart and challenge me to step out in Faith, even when I don't think I could spare another minute to do anything else. If it is your will, God I ask that you would give me the courage to go beyond attending a group and step up to lead one!  In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen!

Amen! Thank you Lord for always knowing what we need to hear. Place me where ever it is that YOU need me. When that time comes, whether it’s joining a small group or leading one, Lord I’m ready.

Amen! Lord I thank you in advance for leading me to a small group to help me continue to walk out the calling on my life; that Your Will be done, in Jesus name. Amen.

On the nose- as a single parent I have found myself in this exact situation. The Lord has definitely helped me in my guidance in this important role of balancing everything. Going through leadership academy through Faith Family, my eyes were opened up to the fact that I was in fact stretching myself to thin. A Yes to everything kind of attitude, I've slowed down and have really meditated on God's word , which in turn completed a year journey in my bible and now on year two in my new testament. Thank you Lord for turning my foucus on you in everything I do, work as though I'm working for you.

Amen! I truly believe that creating relationships with your church family is the best way to practice friendship. We all have one goal. That is to honor God with our lives. ❤️
